St. Isaac's Cathedral is a symbol of St. Petersburg and one of the most monumental and majestic sights of the city. St. Isaac's Cathedral was built for forty years from 1818 to 1858. It was consecrated in the name of St. Isaac of Dalmatia, on whose memorial day Tsar Peter I, the founder of the city, was born. St. Isaac's Cathedral, designed by Fr. Montferrand, has become one of the largest domed structures in Europe. The grandeur of the temple is determined by its size: height 101.5 m, length 111.2 m, width 97.6 m.

The height of St. Isaac's Cathedral is 101.5 m, the dome diameter is 21.8 m. The temple area is about 4,000 square meters. St. Isaac's Cathedral can accommodate 12,000 people at a time. The colonnade of St. Isaac's Cathedral is perhaps the best viewing platform in St. Petersburg. A postcard-like and mesmerizing 360-degree view opens from above. You can climb to the top of the colonnade via an internal staircase, climbing 211 steps, where you will find a magnificent panorama of the entire central part of the city.

Today, the St. Isaac's Cathedral State Memorial Museum is a universally recognized All-Russian cultural center, a multifunctional museum institution that creates a special atmosphere of a modern museum for visitors. New expositions, exhibitions and sightseeing projects are being created in the museum, sacred music is played under the arches of temples, social and cultural events and scientific forums are held.
